About this deal

Just two years have elapsed since Native Instruments launched their Maschine, and already this partnership of controller and software feels ubiquitous.

You are free to use time signatures other than 4/4 but cannot vary them (or the tempo) from Scene to Scene. MIKRO is optimized for making music with a laptop, letting you focus on what matters: getting ideas down fast. Explore easy-to-follow guides from our MASCHINE experts covering everything from your first steps to tricks and tips that push your creativity further. The Maschine Mikro Mk3 is the latest in the mark three range of Maschine controllers from Native Instruments. Admittedly a few extra knobs wouldn't have gone amiss, but it remains an incredibly attractive package, assuming you're comfortable working in a pattern-oriented way.I don‘t know about the Maschine Mk3, but the devices before that were not class compliant, so you need the computer to use them as midi controllers (what others have said already). Plus, as a heavy Logic Pro user, I was skeptical of having to learn a whole new software that’s quite different from the traditional DAW setup. That being said, the included sounds remain high quality, and with full versions of Massive, Monark and Prism thrown in, it’s still hard to argue with the value. And since, I have one of the Native Instruments Komplete Kontrol keyboards, I’m able to cruise back and forth between pads and keys with incredible efficiency. The less time I can look at my screen and the more time I can focus on my instruments, the more I’ll stay in my “creativity mindset,” which is very different than “computer mindset.

These discounts are usually communicated through newsletters, which are created and managed by us with the tool "Emarsys". Strong, responsive attacks that taper off into hazy trails are perfect for dub and can also be tweaked for more extreme sound design. Naturally, the effects can be assigned to Macro controls and automated, and if you have a hankering for external processing, up to 16 stereo outputs are provided.BASS AND DRUM SYNTHS: Create your own kicks, snares, hi hats, and more, with the flexible Drum Synth, and dial in rich, studio-ready bass tones with Bass Synth – exclusives to MASCHINE. I recorded the basic synth riff from my keyboard into MASCHINE, added some drums, and exported it as a demo. Tristan is a futurist covering human-centric artificial intelligence advances, quantum computing, STEM, physics, and space stuff. In each Scene, you select a Pattern for each Group that's in use; the longest Pattern of all determines the Scene's length.

Live can be as equally focused and with a KK49 mk2 on the side really does bring the best of both worlds. MASCHINE Mikro has certainly inspired me to expand my own creativity, and I’ve had a lot of fun with it during the past few months. All from one durable encoder, you will struggle to find a more well-refined, yet simple hardware control functionality on any other controller on the market. Also there was random activation of some pads when I pressed hard, but then I realize that the sensitivity was to high.Whatever music you make, you’ll find inspiration with the selection of sounds, samples, and FX included with MASCHINE MIKRO – play, shape, and make them your own. Find dedicated buttons for commonly used functions, easily browse your favourite sounds, and switch between different ways of playing.

I guess whether iMaschine is a fabulous addition or a bit of fluff depends on your perspective on the iPad generally. I primarily tested it with the included Maschine 2 software – which I found very clever for beat-making – but it also worked great in my Pro Tools setup. Akai’s MPC60 was created in response to increasingly cluttered studios that relied on multiple pieces of gear with dozens of knobs, switches, and sliders to shape sounds. There are samples of vintage synths and drum machines as well as several adventurous digital synths created in Reaktor.Things get even more fun when you load a melodic instrument, like a piano, synth, bass or guitar sound. Boot it up and the Mikro's encoder, most of the buttons and all of the pads can be reassigned to transmit MIDI notes, aftertouch, continuous controllers, and so on. Not sure how easy would be to use them with the new Mikro (for example) as it doesnt have a midi port. Built on a carefully selected bank of ring modulators, Ring adds a bell-like quality to melodic sound sources.
