About this deal

But traditional craftsmanship doesn’t necessarily mean they’d sound better, it may well have the opposite effect. Because of these issues I will be using provided photography of the speaker drivers and cabinet internals. Levels in the upper midrange are still slightly elevated, and it's all the more noticeable with the speaker's bass response being more accurate. While it is true that portability is one of the main advantages of iLoud Micro studio monitors, it would be better though, if the speaker grilles could be removed.

All that said, If you need something super small that puts out clean flat sound to 50Hz at low listening levels, the iLoud Micro Monitor is your speaker. The 2kHz peak on the woofer is here, leading up to a crossover point that is lower than the provided specs. Sure they're small, low powered and "only" go down to 55Hz (-3dB) and their 3" woofers won't do subs or move tons of air but that's not the intended purpose, they are (very) near field speakers. The smallest active studio reference monitoring system in the world, iLoud Micro Monitor provides you with ultra-accurate true linear frequency response with no coloration of sound, and can do so in every listening environment.

Thanks to its long-lasting battery, iLoud is the ideal speaker to be carried around by mobile musicians whether they're composing, recording or they simply want to listen to high-quality music anytime and everywhere. For the first time, musicians can have a portable speaker that sounds like a studio monitor, and allows them to create high-quality compositions and accurate mixes on the go.

Both of these factors enable testing in ordinary rooms yet results that can be more accurate than an anechoic chamber. Too bad we don't have a measurement of the built in EQ, would have been interested to see what it does. I had this happen a few times, and if you play above 85dB for extended periods you will get used to seeing this light. The bass is very good, not over done, even though I have the speakers only a foot away from the rear wall. For less bass driven music maybe, but I work with a lot of a lot 808’s and deep sines so I hit the red clipping barrier earlier than most with flatter music.

Presumably for ease of portability, power and sound are also transmitted to one speaker, which then sends the sound and power to the other speaker.

The XLR and ¼” TS jack outputs are missing, so for some connections – we had to purchase a separate cable.Love the size and weight, and most reviews I’ve read and seen on YouTube praise this little speakers. You get switches for bass and treble as well as a "DESKTOP" compensation switch - this lets you switch between a "free field" and "desktop" setup effortlessly. The deep seating keeps it from being too wide of a dispersion at the very top octaves, a common problem for little tweeters. You are certainly giving up some low end with the 3” woofers, but if you need something very small which sounds decent, I would recommend them. The second, labelled Score, starts with the first one and adds the score as an optimization variable.

A really great little powered speaker with more than enough oomph to compete with much larger keyboard amplifiers. The larger of the two, the IK Multimedia iLoud MTM, is a mid-range, close-range monitor that focuses on accurate sound reproduction and neutral tones. It certainly delivers a great sound with plenty of undistorted and unrestrained audio power, and it can run either from mains or built in rechargeable power. Its two speakers make for one incredibly small and portable system that delivers exceptional sound in any environment. The difference in sound between the two is less significant than the difference your room will make anyway. Is this paid advertising or are these Grammy winning engineers really enthusiastic about the iloud micro‘s? The iLouds are in a class of their own, with the nearest competitor perhaps being the more expensive Genelec 8010As.
