Yourself and Bob are much cherished in our booky world and I personally really appreciate everything that you do. It’s true that they keep things in the jungle running exactly as Alan’s always wanted them, with everyone doing as he bids. Like the best picture books, it is a pleasingly simple story, set in a faraway place, with a lot to say to young readers. I was at my last school for 4 years and we had ********* book fairs every term – and every term, I was disappointed by the narrow range of books.This book invites interaction with the story and plenty of action and noise as Alan makes his way through the jungle and on to a new identity. Your words, like your reviews, bring books to life and give them a voice before the front cover is even turned. The reformation of a bully is a familiar story, but Alan's version is nicely told, and the eventual outcome is especially enjoyable.

A jungly jaunt that’s sure to bring Alan-sized smiles to the faces of listeners (not to mention the occasional adult reader aloud) and I love those vibrant, energetic scenes and some of the small details are real giggle-inducers. Children will howl (like monkeys) at the sight of poor, toothless Alan and the final page will have everyone in fits of giggles. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Bronnie is so lovely with the boys and we also felt that having a man enthusing about the books set a great example. A goofy comedy of self-discovery now in baby-friendly board book format, warm-hearted storytelling and bright graphic art have made Alan’s Big, Scary Teeth an award-winning children’s favourite.Yesterday a parent came over to tell me how impressed she was by the book fair and that you did a fabulous job of selling the books to the children first.
