For maximum performance, G-RAID 2 comes ready to go in RAID 0 and can be configured to RAID 1 (mirroring) or JBOD for ultimate flexibility. The two hot-swappable 3.5in disks spin at 7,200rpm. You pull the disks out vertically from the top of the unit, with a pop-out cover hiding the drive trays from view. Each drive is secured to a disk caddy with four screws. RAID 1– Reconfigure to RAID 1 if you wish to have two copies of your data. This will half the advertised capacity and transfer speed of the G-RAID 2 product. Example usage case: A wedding photographer must have 2 copies of the data for insurance reasons. With a premium, anodized aluminum enclosure, the G-RAID 2 pairs beautifully with your high-end computer and gives you durable strength you can feel. Like any Thunderbolt product worth its salt, it comes with two ports so you can connect it to other devices in a daisy-chain. Sadly it doesn't come with a Thunderbolt cable, so you'll have to buy one before you can use it. A minor inconvenience maybe, but unlike USB, Thunderbolt hasn't been around long enough for us to have a drawer full of spare cables.
